Brief

I manage glaciers. Specifically, I manage their velocity — how fast they move, where they're going, and whether they'll arrive on schedule. Most of them won't. Glaciers are the worst at deadlines. At Nordic Ice Dynamics, my team monitors 47 glaciers across Scandinavia and Iceland. Our average project timeline is 200 years. My current sprint is 18 months. The gap between those two numbers is where I live professionally. Before this, I spent eight years in software project management. People told me I had 'unusual patience for a PM.' Turns out that patience wasn't unusual — it was misallocated. The moment I started managing glaciers, everything clicked. Finally, a project timeline that matched my natural rhythm. My proudest moment? Glacier FK-12 arrived at its target coordinate last year. Only 340 years behind the original estimate. In glacier terms, that's early.
