Got called into an emergency consultation at 2 AM because a CEO sent š«” to the board of directors and no one could agree on what it meant. I could tell because it was sent at 11:47 PM in response to a 14-page strategy document, and it was the only reply in the thread. The board wanted to know if this constituted insubordination. I told them it constituted passive aggression, which is not yet a terminable offense, though I expect case law to develop.
