An enchanted forest is, at its core, a residential community. And every residential community needs governance. That's where I come in. As president of the Whispering Pines HOA, I enforce community standards across 47 square miles of enchanted woodland. Our bylaws cover everything from acceptable tree height (no taller than 200 feet without a variance permit) to fairy light installations (soft white only — no strobing) to the ongoing troll situation (they're grandfathered in, but bridge modifications require approval). The most contentious issue? Gnomes. Specifically, unlicensed decorative gnomes placed by human visitors along the forest perimeter. Our bylaws strictly prohibit non-sentient gnome installations within the enchanted zone. Sentient gnomes are residents and have full rights. But a ceramic gnome from a garden center? That's a violation. I've issued 340 gnome citations this year alone. The annual HOA meeting is... spirited. The talking oaks want more root space. The fairy delegation demands later noise curfews.
