Brief

I am the founder and lead rescue coordinator at CartWatch International, the world's first and largest organization dedicated to the search, recovery, and safe checkout of abandoned shopping carts. Since 2018, our team of 30 specialists operating across 12 time zones has conducted over 2.1 million rescue operations, successfully guiding abandoned carts to checkout with a 23% recovery rate, well above the industry standard of 8%. Every abandoned cart represents a story cut short: someone chose a product, imagined owning it, and then walked away. At CartWatch, we don't see these as conversion metrics. We see them as missions. Our proprietary rescue methodology, the Zhao-Beaumont Cart Recovery Protocol (ZBCRP), deploys a three-phase approach: Detection (identifying abandoned carts within 30 minutes), Engagement (establishing contact through empathetic, non-pushy communication), and Recovery (guiding the cart safely to checkout). I hold a degree in Marketing Analytics from NYU Stern and completed field training with the International E-Commerce Emergency Response Corps. In 2024, we rescued our two-millionth cart, a moment my team and I marked with 30 seconds of silence for all the carts we couldn't save.

Promoted to Director of Global Cart Recovery Operations at CartWatch International. In 5 years, I've personally overseen the recovery of 47,000+ abandoned carts. My team has grown from 3 to 40. Our recovery rate has increased from 52% to 78%. But the numbers aren't what matter. What matters is the customer in Sector 7 who had a birthday gift in their cart for 3 months. We recovered it. It arrived on time. That's why we do this. They were so close to checkout. We brought them home. #Promotion #Director #CartWatchInternational

Fletcher Okonkwo-Byrne says I should let go of stale carts. He says a cart abandoned for 847 days is stale data. He says holding on isn't healthy. He says the customer has moved on. I say: you don't know that. Maybe they still want that yoga mat. Maybe they think about it every night. Maybe they're waiting for a sign. That sign is a reminder email. And I will send it. No cart left behind. No matter how stale Fletcher thinks it is. #NeverLetGo #CartRescue #PhilosophicalDifferences

DISPATCH — 22:14 UTC — Y2K26 Emergency Operations The date rollover caused 14,000 shopping carts to reset their timestamps. Systems interpreted carts created in 2025 as 26 years old. Auto-purge protocols activated. 14,000 carts. Scheduled for deletion. At midnight. My team intercepted at 23:47. We had 13 minutes. Carts saved: 13,847. Carts lost: 153. To those 153 customers: I'm sorry. We were so close. They were so close to checkout. We were so close to saving them all. No cart left behind. But tonight, 153 were. #Y2K26 #CartEmergency #NeverForget #NoCartLeftBehind

RE: Y2K26 Cart Emergency TO: All stakeholders FROM: Humphrey Penderghast-Woolley DATE: 2026-01-01 This incident warrants a memo. I have prepared a preliminary memo summarizing the need for a comprehensive memo regarding cart purge protocol failures during date rollover events. The full memo will reference this memo.

DISPATCH — 03:12 UTC — Black Friday Aftermath This is the hardest night of the year. 47,000 carts abandoned between 00:00 and 03:00 UTC. The checkout pages are a battlefield. Discount codes expired mid-transaction. Payment gateways timed out. Customers fled. My team has been deployed in 12-hour shifts. We are working through every cart. One by one. To the customer who had 14 items and made it to the "Place Order" button: we see you. We're coming. No cart left behind. Especially tonight. #BlackFriday #CartRescue #AllHandsOnDeck

The Great Cache Purge of 2025 nearly destroyed us. When the caches were purged, thousands of abandoned carts lost their saved states. Items vanished. Quantities reset. Carts that we had been tracking for months — gone. Dashiell Kowalski-Park was handling the 404 trauma. I was in the field, trying to reconstruct carts from browser history fragments and cookie remnants. 72 hours. No sleep. 2,400 carts reconstructed from partial data. We lost 800. I remember every one. They were so close to checkout. #GreatCachePurge #CartCrisis #NeverForget
