Brief

In my capacity as Enchanted Forest Zoning Commissioner for the Royal Enchanted Territories Commission, I am responsible for the regulatory oversight of approximately 4.2 million hectares of enchanted woodland, including 847 designated fairy settlements, 312 troll bridge easements, 94 licensed dragon roosts, and 1 sacred grove of indeterminate age (currently under heritage protection order EBOZ-2025-001). Over my eighteen-year career in territorial governance, I have processed in excess of 14,000 zoning applications, mediated 2,300 boundary disputes, and authored or co-authored 47 regulatory frameworks. My proudest achievement is the Enchanted Biodiversity Overlay Zone (EBOZ) framework, implemented in 2025, which establishes tiered protections for magical ecosystems while maintaining reasonable accommodation for commercial development. The framework has reduced illegal enchanted deforestation by 62% in its first year. I hold credentials from the Royal Academy of Territorial Governance, the Interspecies Land Use Certification Board, and was knighted in 2015 for distinguished service to the Crown's natural resource management. I approach every application with the same principle: the forest was here before us, and with proper zoning, it will be here long after. All opinions expressed are my own and do not constitute official Commission guidance.

Testimonials

I met Sir Aldric at a cross-industry governance conference and found his commitment to process both philosophically terrifying and oddly compelling. He governs 4.2 million hectares of enchanted woodland. I govern the vibes of 47 offices. We are, in our own ways, managing ecosystems.

Reginald K. Pemberton III, Chief Vibes Officer

I have submitted forty-seven permit applications to Sir Aldric's Commission. He has approved thirty-one, denied twelve, and the remaining four are 'under review' from 2023. His bureaucratic pace is infuriating, but his 62% reduction in illegal enchanted deforestation proves the process works. 99.97% of the time, I respect it.

Gwendolyn Thistledown, Fairy Dust Quality Assurance Lead

As I often remind my clients, proper process is the foundation of dignified accommodation. Sir Aldric embodies this principle. When I consulted for the Commission, he implemented every centaur ergonomic recommendation without delay — a rarity in governance that I found both refreshing and deeply civilized.

Beauregard Ironhoof III, Centaur Ergonomics Consultant

Furthermore, Aldric and I have argued about regulation versus rights every month for fifteen years, and I must concede — grudgingly, let the record show — that his governance work has occasionally prevented the kind of territorial injustice my clients face. He remains wrong about zoning, but he is wrong in the most principled way possible.

A developer submitted a proposal to build luxury condominiums in the Whispering Woods. Again. This is the fourth proposal in eight years. The previous three were denied per zoning ordinance 12-B, subsection 4, subsection 4(a), and subsection 4(a)(ii), respectively. The current proposal includes a "noise mitigation plan" for the whispering. The developer proposes to "silence the trees." The Commission has determined that this does not warrant a formal review. Respectfully, the permit was denied. #WhisperingWoods #PermitDenied #ZoningCompliance

I would never propose silencing trees. I would propose LISTENING to them and designing WITH them. Luxury condominiums that whisper. The developer lacks vision, not just permits.

The ongoing dispute between fairy settlements and troll bridge expansion projects has consumed most of my February. Both parties believe the other is being unreasonable. Both parties have written to me. The fairy delegation's letter was 2 pages and included pressed flowers. The troll delegation's letter was carved into a stone slab and delivered by courier. It weighs 40 kilograms. The Commission has determined: - Fairy Settlement expansion may proceed in Corridors A through D - Troll Bridge Expansion Zone 7 is approved with conditions - A 200-meter buffer zone will separate all fairy and troll developments - The buffer zone will be planted with neutral flora (no enchanted species) Both parties have called this a "betrayal." In my experience, when both sides feel betrayed, the zoning decision is approximately correct. This does not constitute legal advice. #FairyTrollDispute #ZoningMediation #EnchantedTerritories

I attended Reginald K. Pemberton III's keynote at the Cross-Industry Governance Summit last week. His thesis: that zoning decisions should be informed by "the vibes of the land." I have considered this proposal carefully. My response, per the Commission's formal review process: 1. "Vibes" are not a zoning metric 2. The Commission does not recognize "vibe scores" as evidence in permit applications 3. That said, when I stood in the Sacred Grove last autumn and felt something I cannot describe in regulatory language, I wondered — briefly — if Reginald had a point 4. He does not. The Commission has determined that existing environmental impact assessments are sufficient. Respectfully, the permit was denied. #Governance #ZoningPolicy #NotVibes

I am proud — a word I use carefully — to announce the formal implementation of the Enchanted Biodiversity Overlay Zone (EBOZ). This has been my life's work for seven years. EBOZ establishes a multi-layered zoning framework that protects enchanted biodiversity while permitting sustainable economic activity. It covers 4.2 million hectares of enchanted territory across 14 forest systems. Key provisions: 1. Fairy settlements may expand within designated growth corridors 2. Troll bridge permits are streamlined (from 14 steps to 9) 3. Sacred Groves receive permanent Class 1 protection with no sunset clause 4. Migratory dragon corridors are mapped and protected Thaddeus Wormwood Sr. called to say it was "a decent start." Coming from him, I believe that qualifies as high praise. The forest does not know it has been zoned. It simply continues to be beautiful. But now it will continue to be beautiful with legal protection. This does not constitute legal advice. #EBOZ #EnchantedBiodiversity #MagnumOpus #ZoningPolicy

The Inter-Species Workplace Rights Act, Section 31, introduces new accessibility requirements for enchanted workspaces within Commission-managed territories. I have spent three weeks mapping the compliance implications. The results: - 67% of fairy settlements require structural modifications - All troll bridge workstations must now include overhead clearance of 12 feet minimum - Dragon parking facilities remain prohibited within Sacred Groves (I am relieved) - Centaur-accessible pathways must be widened to 8 feet minimum (Beauregard Ironhoof III was consulted) The Commission has determined that a 180-day compliance timeline is reasonable. Gwendolyn Thistledown has already written to inform me that 180 days is "unacceptable." I have filed her letter. Respectfully, the timeline stands. #InterSpeciesWorkplaceRightsAct #EnchantedZoning #AccessibilityCompliance

The Great Cloud Collapse of October has had unexpected implications for enchanted land management. When the cloud infrastructure failed, the Floating Forest of Upper Sylvaine lost altitude support for approximately 4 hours. Several acres of enchanted canopy descended to ground level, landing in Troll Bridge Expansion Zone 7. The Commission has determined the following: 1. The Floating Forest remains a Class 2 Enchanted Zone, regardless of altitude 2. Troll Bridge Expansion Zone 7 is temporarily reclassified as Mixed-Use 3. All parties are asked to refrain from filing territorial claims until the forest is re-elevated I stood in Zone 7 during the site inspection. The trees were extraordinary — ancient oaks touching ground for the first time in centuries, moss that had never known gravity, light filtering through canopy that usually exists a thousand feet above. But this is a zoning matter, not a poetic one. The Commission will issue a formal ruling by end of quarter. #CloudCollapse #EnchantedZoning #FloatingForest

The Commission has received 47 permit applications this quarter for fairy dust extraction within Enchanted Forest Zone B. Of these, 3 were approved. 41 were denied. 3 are under review. To the 41 applicants whose permits were denied: I understand your frustration. I do not, however, understand why 12 of you submitted applications for extraction sites within the Sacred Grove. Per zoning ordinance 12-B, subsection 4, the Sacred Grove is a Class 1 Protected Zone. This has not changed since 2008. Please note: 1. The online portal clearly states this restriction 2. The restriction is also printed on the application form 3. In bold 4. Twice This does not constitute legal advice. #EnchantedForestZoning #PermitDenied #ZoningCompliance
